A plastic bath mat built for a wet shower floor
This is the mat for the inside of the shower, where a fabric one would just sit there soaking. Long slots run the length of it so water drains straight through to the tray, and the underside carries around 560 raised studs that lift the whole mat a few millimetres clear of the floor — so water moves underneath instead of being trapped against the tiles. It is made from PE plastic, which is soft enough to be comfortable underfoot and springy enough to bend double and come back flat.

Why the studs underneath matter
Most of the work happens on the side you never look at. The studs do two jobs at once: they grip the tray so the mat stays put when you step on the edge of it, and they hold it just off the floor so the water that comes through the slots keeps moving towards the drain. A mat lying flat against wet tile is exactly how you end up with a slimy underside and a mat that slides. This one drains and dries on both faces.
Soft underfoot, not rigid
PE is the difference between this and the hard slatted duckboards you find in changing rooms. There is a little give in it, so standing on it barefoot is comfortable rather than sharp, and it flexes with the floor instead of rocking on an uneven tray. You can roll it or fold it to get it out of the way, and it springs back without creasing. Simple ivory, blue or grey — nothing to clash with the rest of the bathroom.
FAQ
Will it slide on a wet shower tray?
The studded underside is what holds it. For the best grip, make sure the tray is rinsed clean of soap and shampoo residue before you lay the mat down — a film of product underneath is what makes any mat move.
Can I use it on the bathroom floor instead of inside the shower?
You can, but bear in mind it drains rather than absorbs — water goes through the slots onto whatever is beneath. On a tiled floor that is fine. If you want somewhere dry to stand after a shower, pair it with an absorbent mat outside the cubicle.

Washing:
- Machine wash your bath mat at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle, or hand wash, to protect the fibres and keep the colours vibrant.
- Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach or fabric softener, as these can damage the non-slip backing.
- Wash your bath mat separately to prevent colour transfer.
Drying:
- Air drying is recommended to preserve the shape and texture of your bath mat.
- If tumble drying is necessary, use a low heat setting only.
- Avoid drying your bath mat in direct sunlight to minimise fading.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our bath mats.
Yes. All our bath mats feature a non-slip backing designed to grip securely on tiles, laminate and vinyl flooring. For the best grip, place your non-slip bath mat on a clean, dry floor and check the backing regularly.
Most of our bath mats are machine washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Use a mild detergent, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and air dry to protect the non-slip base. Full details are in the care instructions above.
It depends on your space. A small bath mat (around 40 x 60 cm) suits compact bathrooms and en-suites, a standard mat fits most bathrooms, while a large bath mat or extra large bath mat works best in front of walk-in showers, double sinks or freestanding baths. Check the dimensions listed on each product page.
Bath mats are designed to sit outside the bath or shower to absorb water and protect your floor. If you need a mat for inside the shower or bathtub, choose a rubber shower mat with suction cups instead.
Our absorbent bath mats are made to soak up water fast and dry quickly between uses. To speed up drying, hang your mat over the bath or a towel rail after use and keep your bathroom ventilated.
We recommend washing your bathroom mat once a week, or every two weeks with light use. Regular washing prevents moisture build-up, keeps the fibres fresh and extends the life of your mat.
