Every colour is in the yarn
The whole scene is tufted rather than printed — the orange stripes, the blue arches, the black brushstrokes are each worked in their own yarn. That's why the colours look this saturated and why they stay that way: there's no printed layer to crack or fade, and washing takes dirt out without taking colour with it. It also means you can feel the picture underfoot, because the different areas sit at slightly different heights.
