The suction cups underneath bond to a smooth bath base or shower tray and hold while the water is running. On top, the domed nubs break the film of water between the surface and the sole of your foot — which is the actual mechanism behind a slip, and the half most mats ignore. They need a smooth, non-porous surface — standard acrylic and enamel baths and stone resin trays are ideal. They will not grip a textured anti-slip bath base or a tiled floor with grout lines. Wet the cups first and press down from the centre outwards.
Are the bristles harsh on the skin?
No. They're soft silicone that flexes under weight rather than stiff nylon, so it feels like a firm massage rather than a brush. Rinse the pad through after use so nothing collects between the bristles.
