    Description & Features

A chenille bath mat woven in chunky popcorn loops

Rows of fat chenille loops in soft cream, laid in a herringbone so the texture catches the light — it looks hand-knitted and feels like standing on something far more expensive than a bath mat. At 2.8 kg per square metre it has real weight to it, which is why it lies flat and stays where you put it. Water goes in on contact, and the rubber base keeps the whole thing anchored.

    Why the weight matters

2.8 kg per square metre is a lot for a bath mat, and you feel it immediately — thick enough underfoot to be genuinely comfortable, heavy enough that it does not shift when you step onto one corner. Light mats skate across tile and rumple up against the door; a dense one sits still. It also means there is more yarn to hold water, so one person coming out of the shower does not saturate it.

    Loops rather than cut pile

The surface is built from closed chenille loops instead of cut fibres standing on end. Closed loops do not shed — nothing comes away in your hand or ends up stuck to wet feet — and they do not mat down into a flat grey patch where you always stand. They also dry faster, because air moves between the loops rather than being trapped in a dense pile. It is the construction that makes the difference between a mat that still looks good in two years and one that does not.

    FAQ

    Will it go mouldy?
No treatment is claimed and none is needed if you let it breathe. The open loop structure dries quickly, so hang it over the bath or a rail once a week and it stays fresh. Mould grows in mats that stay permanently damp against a cold floor.

    How do I wash it?
Cool wash, no fabric softener, air dry flat. Heat is what damages a rubber backing and makes the edges curl, so keep it out of the tumble dryer. Shake it out once dry and the loops stand back up.

    Care instructions

    Washing:

    • Machine wash your bath mat at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle, or hand wash, to protect the fibres and keep the colours vibrant.
    • Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach or fabric softener, as these can damage the non-slip backing.
    • Wash your bath mat separately to prevent colour transfer.

    Drying:

    • Air drying is recommended to preserve the shape and texture of your bath mat.
    • If tumble drying is necessary, use a low heat setting only.
    • Avoid drying your bath mat in direct sunlight to minimise fading.

    Assistance:

    • For specific care advice or help with stubborn stains, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team. We'll be happy to help you keep your bath mat in perfect condition.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our bath mats.

Yes. All our bath mats feature a non-slip backing designed to grip securely on tiles, laminate and vinyl flooring. For the best grip, place your non-slip bath mat on a clean, dry floor and check the backing regularly.

Most of our bath mats are machine washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Use a mild detergent, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and air dry to protect the non-slip base. Full details are in the care instructions above.

It depends on your space. A small bath mat (around 40 x 60 cm) suits compact bathrooms and en-suites, a standard mat fits most bathrooms, while a large bath mat or extra large bath mat works best in front of walk-in showers, double sinks or freestanding baths. Check the dimensions listed on each product page.

Bath mats are designed to sit outside the bath or shower to absorb water and protect your floor. If you need a mat for inside the shower or bathtub, choose a rubber shower mat with suction cups instead.

Our absorbent bath mats are made to soak up water fast and dry quickly between uses. To speed up drying, hang your mat over the bath or a towel rail after use and keep your bathroom ventilated.

We recommend washing your bathroom mat once a week, or every two weeks with light use. Regular washing prevents moisture build-up, keeps the fibres fresh and extends the life of your mat.
