Will the backing survive washing?
The base is hot-melt bonded into the mat rather than glued on, so there is no seam to come apart and it does not crack and flake in the drum the way a glued backing does. Wash cool and air dry flat — heat is still the one thing to avoid.
How do I keep the bobbles full?
No fabric softener, cool wash, air dry rather than tumble dry, and shake it out once it is dry. The loops compress when you stand on them and spring back as they dry.
