A massage bath mat that grips the bottom of your bath
This one sits inside the bath or shower tray, not on the floor next to it. The whole top surface is covered in raised circular discs, with a foot-shaped textured panel in the middle where you naturally stand, and smooth metal beads set into the centre of a few discs. Underneath, suction cups hold it flat against the enamel, and drainage holes run right through so water never pools between the mat and the bath.

Why the discs are there
Two reasons. The first is grip: a flat mat and a wet foot is a poor combination, while a surface broken up into hundreds of small raised points gives the sole something to hold onto. The second is simply that it feels good underfoot — standing on it while the shower runs is somewhere between a foot rub and a very firm mat. The textured panel in the middle is a little coarser than the rest, so you can work the soles of your feet against it without moving.
Getting the suction cups to hold
Suction cups only work on a smooth, clean, wet surface, and this is where most people go wrong. Rinse the bath first so there is no soap film, wet both the bath and the underside of the mat, lay it down and press firmly across the whole surface — palm flat, working outwards from the middle. On a textured or non-slip-finish bath the cups will not hold properly; that is the surface, not the mat. Lift it out after your bath and hang it to dry, and it will keep its suction for far longer.

Can I use it on the bathroom floor?
It is not designed for that. The suction cups need a smooth, non-porous surface to hold, and the drainage holes let water straight through to whatever is underneath. Keep this one inside the bath or the shower tray, and use an absorbent mat on the floor.
What are the little metal beads for?
They are smooth metal inserts set flush into the centre of some of the discs, and they give a firmer, cooler point of contact than the PVC around them. They are decorative and tactile — nothing more than that.
