Do the footprints really disappear?
They fade rather than vanish instantly. The surface absorbs the water and spreads it out, so a dark print lightens over a few seconds and has gone within about ten. After a long shower with a lot of water on your feet it takes slightly longer.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and let it air dry. There is no pile to trap dust or hair, so it needs far less attention than a fabric mat — just lift it now and then to let the floor underneath dry.
