The high-density diatom mud layer underneath draws that moisture through and spreads it so it evaporates quickly, which means the mat is ready again by the time the next person showers rather than staying damp all morning. The regenerated sponge layer gives it some give underfoot, and the natural rubber base holds firm on tiles so stepping off the tray doesn't send it sliding.

Charcoal is a practical choice for a shower mat: it doesn't show water marks the way a pale mat does, and the PVC surface wipes clean with a damp cloth instead of needing a wash cycle. The lettering is printed and fade resistant, so it stays crisp.
